My Approach
Within the therapeutic relationship, I am very person-centered. I meet the individual where they are. I believe that within each of us lies the strength to heal ourselves &, through the counseling relationship, this healing strength is nurtured & helped to bring one to a greater feeling of well-being.

I approach therapy from a psychodynamic perspective examining one's relationships, attachments, & vulnerabilities. I utilize techniques from a variety of therapeutic schools to assist individuals in dealing with their presenting issues including, but not limited to, cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness exercises, motivational interviewing & interpersonal approaches, among others.

I have training in psychodynamic theory & technique as well as cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy & others. I attempt to integrate the best approach to work with each individual, couple &/or family to help them meet their treatment goals. I deeply value the treatment relationship & find the client-therapist relationship to be beneficial in creating opportunities for growth & change. We will work collaboratively to identify shared treatment goals & will continuously monitor progress to make sure you are getting what you need out of the experience.
I routinely collaborate with parents, guidance counselors, psychiatrists, as well as other supports, as needed. This strong support network will help the individual to achieve & sustain long lasting growth & balance.

I use humor & creativity to create a safe space while meeting clients where they are to open up at their own pace. I have been described as warm, genuine & present by past clients.
